San Fernando Valley natives Juliana Giraffe and Ari Balouzian make 'art pop with a cinematic flair', as Midnight Sister. The L.A duo emerged with their full-length debut, Saturn Over Sunset, in 2017, and today, they released their sophomore album, aptly titled Painting the Roses. Second track in is 'Satellite', which features soft and spongey keys, keeping the rhythm of a strong 70s-style groove. The vocals are soft like Nico of the Velvet Underground, with the soulful sass of Minnie Riperton.
